If you are considering attending here full-time and on campus, PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL! This school has truly lost any and all qualities that originally drew me into picking it in the first place. Professors are extremely hit or miss- some absolutely ruin a class for you, not caring at all if you pass or not. Some do not even use the platform dedicated for all of the coursework, and are unreachable by email or take a week to respond. Throughout the entire time that I've been here, they have raised tuition every year, and by 8.44% in the past 2 years alone. There are continuous budget cuts in every department and club, and lowered student meal plans by over $200 per quarter. Facilities are often left broken for weeks without repair, even ones that are necessary for physical accessibility. If you have housing accommodations or need to be in contact with their department for any reason, forget it. They will string you around and redirect you back and forth until you give up. The financial aid department is also notorious for not giving a damn about any students' financial hardships, even allowing some to drop out because they were a couple hundred short for that quarter. They tried and failed to cover up the major flooding in the Murphy apartments due to faulty water pipes/insulation. Students that were relocated for almost 3 months were given extra MEAL PLAN allowance that wasn't even usable since it expires at the end of every quarter. The on-campus security is just decorative at this point, there are a bunch of homeless people that loiter around campus and even harass students sometimes. The only parking garage has carjackings every month, it is entirely open without any regulation or security managing it. But do feel free to attend this school if you don't care about the following: price, safety, campus life, visibility, internet access, professors, dining options, facilities, or education quality.
Red Flags to Note: 97 percent success rate. (means they kick people out) It takes too many clicks to find the tuition (that is 55k a year) They let you sign up for some other sight to "calculate price" which is abnormal. Almost every other review here is a reflection of the school and it's quality. Note: I have not gone here, but I looked into going here. It feels like a giant trap that I bet parents push their kids into. School should cost at most 5k a year for just the learning.
It's okay, for incoming students, don't plan on bringing much for dorm rooms. If I'm Bellarmine, one kitchen in the basement. In Camp, each floor. Xavier, no idea.
I don't understand the housing rule, if you live near Campus you should be automatically exempt from campus housing, but no. You have to apply for exemption and take few weeks for housing committee to decide. What a waist of time.
If you are looking to attend this university, DONT!!! The professors are condescending, do not care about your quality of learning nor wellbeing, and simply don’t bother with teaching you material aside from reading off of powerpoints. As a senior, the changes in quality and costs of this school over merely 4 years is astounding. The tuition has been raised every single year but our resources have also been given budget cuts each year. The facilities- buildings, dormitories, bathrooms, classrooms, are all extremely dated and nonfunctional. Mold is a common issue, and heating in the winter is hard to come by. If you have any sort of mobility issues, forget about accessibility. Most elevators are broken as well as the automatic door openers. The credits earned here are not transferrable to any other institution either, so you are softlocked into completing your degree here as you have no other choice. Prospective students, look elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a college experience, do not go here. Mostly kids from suburbs outside Seattle that go home on the weekends. Seriously, campus is a ghost town on weekends.
The online master’s degree advisor Kryst was condescending and ignorant when she talked to me. And was not inclusive to international students. Thanks for the first time I was discriminated by someone explicitly and it was through a school faculty, how ironic! The fact that being questioned about my master’s school degree that was done over sea and interrogated during the call, made me question whether this program is set to welcome all students or it is only designed to be non- inclusive. I don’t think I’d like to move forward with this program based on how she talked to me, never have I experienced this with other schools advisor or any other international programs. I’d rather go WSU even if they have the same admission process.
Seattle U is my alma mater. It was an amazing place to go to graduate school. Amazing professors; beautiful campus. I'm very grateful to have been able to attend.
My daughter went here for two years and hated every single minute of her wasted time and money. Her credits from there are not transferable because every school in the area knows it doesn’t have real teachers or classes. There’s 100% a reason that there’s a massive lawsuit against Seattle U, it does not provide or have the ability to provide the classes necessary for the degrees it offers. What a waste of time, money, effort!!! My daughter went from being thrilled about going to college to hating every single moment she had to spend at this pos college and now won’t even consider going to a different college because her experience here was so awful! We HATE you Seattle U!
Alex, who works in the System & Tech department does not behave properly to students!! Be aware
This university is amazing. The small class sizes, quality of food, nice buildings, beautiful campus, friendly people, and school programs/athletics make this university a wonderful place. This school is going places, and will certainly be a "powerhouse" in all things in a few years. I am proud to be a student here!
You are better of at attending community colleges or just stay away from Seattle school with exception of uw. Tho not a private school. Seattle u has racial discrimination qualities, terrible security, president of the school is just the …
While I do not attend this school I live in the area. The campus is beautiful and has many walking paths. It's a great alternative to taking 12th. They even have some public building so you can use the ATMs.
I had a campus tour with a friend of mine who was a Masters student at the university. I like the ambience, lots of space for outside reading or hanging out. The university is also well located with lots of places nearby and can be conveniently reached through bus or train.
I live only 3 blocks from here and it's got rare plants so I like that since I need a cane to go places. Too bad a Street goes through campus so they got a skybridge that goes to third floor so you have to use steps or elevators on both …
Nice campus and only glitch is James Street seperates campus. Nice plants of rare varieties. The Campus Book Store moved to Madison Street off campus and the Cave on Campion is now under new management or gone? It's no longer accessible to non students l found out. Two bad moves.Add these two glitches. It's still a nice campus.
Really its a Beautiful campus
Stayed here for a short bit, but it was enjoyable. Nice campus, however there were some crazies that would wander on campus occasionally
I came here for an event and to use their field. Great campus and close to downtown.
If you're looking for a place to take a nice stroll on a sunny day, this is a great place! The landscaping is top notch! You can find an unofficial dog park here, as well as a fountain to wash the dogs off afterwards! ha
