I’m not a student, so I can’t speak much about UW Tacoma. The campus is aesthetically pleasing and walkable if you’re looking for an urban spot to visit in the downtown area. Buses and light rail service are right off-campus. I was disappointed that they replaced a mural that had twulshootseed text on it. Lovely campus overall.

The campus is very urban and located right in downtown Tacoma, yet the center of campus feels like a quiet park. It's right across the street from famous museums and the water front. There's also convenient transportation, with frequent buses and the light rail running nearby. Although it is sometimes considered a second rate school compared to UW in Seattle, the Tacoma campus offers some unique opportunities and support that cannot be so easily found in Seattle, including an amazing program for aspiring documentary filmmakers. All of the faculty I've interacted with have been kind and generous with their time and knowledge.

Most of the reviews here are NOT from students but from people who think the campus is pretty. As a returning student- DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Advisors are useless, they will tell you that credits expire, when they don't. Transferring take forever and is rigorous, you have to be on everyone to do their jobs. My transcripts sat for a month before I had to ask for them to be reviewed- even though my application was pending due to transcripts.... This college is meant for children who dont work or have lives, not adults returning to further education....

Even if you have no interest in the university, this downtown Tacoma campus is a nice area to walk around or take a break. I crossed the campus on my way from Union Station to somewhere uphill and enjoyed the little stroll. Modern buildings blend well in to a bunch of historical ones.

We're not students or alumni. We chanced upon this campus during a recent trip to Tacoma and decided to check it out. It's compact, walkable, and mostly quiet since school was out during our visit.

As a University of Washington Bothell student, the UWT campus is a mixture of modern and historical architecture. Some UWT buildings were built on old, historical, and ancient warehouses/factories. More interesting, the Washington State history museum and courthouse are located nearby. What a wonderful and green campus!!!

Anyone with a pulse and a federal award letter can be accepted here. They are a glorified community college at ten times the price. I will say when I was there the hard science professors were good. But the psychology professors were a joke. This school is more concerned with its political agenda than it is with education. I am blind in one eye and I missed psych exam one day due to food poisoning. The instructor forced me to take the exam on a concrete floor (a two hour essay exam). She refused to use the testing center. This coming from the same professor preaching tolerance and inclusion. Apparently not to those with disabilities! The parking is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Before you graduate you will pay HUNDREDS in parking tickets. They check ever ten minutes and only few spaces are available. If you are looking for the UW name go to Seattle. If you are looking for cheap go to a community college. Update: Still a horrible school but this review got more than 4,000 views so that’s 4k saved from this dump!

UW Tacoma has played an important role in revitalizing Tacoma's downtown core. Fresh landscaping brightens the streets and discourages littering. The influx of young professionals helps support new businesses and a lively bar scene. Perhaps most important to me as a local is the way that UW Tacoma has preserved historical buildings, repurposing them for use as classrooms, research labs, and mixed-use facilities that house shops, restaurants, community services, and housing alongside university amenities.

Great campus..nice and clean ..lots of new buildings the library is awesome. I love just walking around the campus.you can walk down on to Pacific Avenue. There are a few new restaurants..also they are building a new s.t.e.m building.. thank you very much for all the jobs the campus creates

I went to school here when the location hasn’t been upgraded yet with all the paved walk ways, and now it looks so beautiful! I love going for walks around UW! School wise tho, I didn’t feel like they had the greatest teachers. Some teachers were so monotone you just couldn’t listen. But that’s probably how college is.

Great energetic urban school environment. Classic style buildings. Worth the visit, this is now downtown Tacoma.

Aesthetics and environment are very modern with tones and structure that reminisce of the previous buildings' industrial history. Wide variety of majors and classes to help launch anyone into success in their desired field. Benefits from its great main campus' system in Seattle.

I went to school here, so I like it. It is a public education institution so it has a few hurdles to deal with. The actual education is top notch. It's all the extra university stuff that you have to navigate that is kind of a pain. If you …

Like any school, there are good and bad aspects of UW Tacoma. The good: easy to get into (for a good name), small class sizes, urban layout, cheap cost of living), lots of food nearby, nice campus, and most of the professors are good. The …

Great school. Has good professors and the TLC is awesome for any help you need in any aspect. The parking is limited unless you want to pay and your visit is under 90 minutes. The use of the link is highly recommended, it runs a 6 stop look …

With the title "University of Washington" many preconceived ideas of large classes and huge campus layouts come to mind ; however, this campus has the feel of a small university with the accessibility and resources as a State University. …

It is a small campus. I have considered going to school here for an MBA here; however, the program I was looking at didn't have good recruiting opportunities. It was just a different target group. I heard great things about the undergrad programs here.

I came to UW Tacoma with the intention of eventually transferring to the Seattle Campus.. After my first year, I realized that when you graduate from any University of Washington, regardless of campus, your degree will still say graduated …
