Honestly after being an online student a Brenau for a full year, you're probably better off choosing another university. For starters, most of the instructors barely interact with you. They claim to respond to e-mails within 24 hours, but for me it takes almost a week to even get a response. No zoom meetings to interact with students as I would like. Second thing, they hardly even have any programs online to choose from. Not even any minors or the option to take up a dual major. Lastly, TUITION SHOULD NOT COST THAT MUCH AS AN ONLINE STUDENT OR COLLEGE STUDENT PERIOD. I am glad I am in the process of transferring to a university that cost nearly four times less than what I am paying per semester at Brenau.
The person I spoke with was unexpectedly aggressive and rude. Considering the call was already five minutes late, I found the tone especially disappointing—particularly for a program representing the nursing profession.
Great, warm and inviting staff. Clean campus and definitely historic.
Small campus with great hospitality. My daughter loves it at Brenau!
I wouldn't give this university one star if that were an option. The university seems alright through the enrollment process. The enrollment advisors and success coaches are great. After that you find out how bad the instructors really are as well as the provost and the registrar. All fully accredited master’s programs should be rigorous, but they should not be unbearable. The university crams an entire lifetime of work into seven weeks while claiming to cater to working adults with families. There is no support system whatsoever and the instructors are way too harsh with their grading. My colleagues went to universities with much better recognition and prestige and they were not anywhere near as overwhelmed as I was while attending Brenau. Time management is key, but I do not want to forget to mention that if you become ill and hospitalized for any reason, they will not empathize with you. If you need to submit an appeal to be readmitted to school or to gain financial aid eligibility, I would recommend you do not submit an appeal as they are still going to throw you out anyway even with all of your medical documentation. They are very quick to throw students out of the university with no looking back. Yet they wonder why their retention rate is so low. I would not recommend this school to anyone wanting to pursue a graduate degree. There are better options trust me.
I’m in my second year of attendance with Brenau & I feel like I have enough experience to truly say, find another school. If you are planning to do online classes you are automatically set up for failure and at a disadvantage.Registration was a breeze, and immediately after you get enrolled, the trouble begins. I could not reach my advisor for months and had to contact the board multiple times for guidance. I managed to maintain Merit List my first semester due to most of the teachers being AMAZING, however, the school is terribly unorganized. I have officially decided to find a different school after a semester of multiple health issues documented by my doctor & issues that I informed all of my Professors & Advisors of. Specifically my Statistics Professor was completely unsympathetic, almost judgmental. Long story short, I ended up failing a EXTREMELY expensive class (that I held a A/B+ in the entire semester) by 1 point after my final. After pleading with the professor and chair of the school, it’s clear that this school lacks understanding and ability to work with online students. So many bad experiences has lead up to this review and I’m sickened at the amount of student loans I’ve accrued for this outcome!
I applied in November 2014 and have yet to begin online classes. The communication from the admissions/enrollment department is far less than desirable. No phone call followups, no return emails, and now I intend to email the department head so I can have my financial aid returned to use at another school. Very Disappointed....this school used to have high standards and a good reputation.
I'm a grad of both the Women's College and Graduate school. Brenau gave me a good education and an even better network of women alumni that understand the challenges ahead for the next generation. This is a solid investment that pays in your hearts, if not in your wallets.
I applied here and was accepted as an undergraduate. At the time a had a 4.0 Gpa, was a licensed nurse and retiring from the military. I called to ask what classes I needed to take over the summer in preparation for attending this university in the fall of that year because I intended to apply for their OT program after all prerequisites were meant. I was told that because I failed a class when I was 17 years old at another college (mind you I’m applying 14 years later with a 4.0 GPA) that I would never make it into their program because my grades were not good enough. I was devastated.....I replied that they were not the only OT school in America and 5 years later, single mother of 2, and United States Army Veteran has Graduated from another OT program With a 4.0 GPA and passed my National Boards on the first try. Thank you for giving me the motivation to succeed in spite of your hurtful rejection. I’m now living my dream. Spend more time getting to know your candidates so you will not turn away quality students with nasty words.
I graduated from the Women’s College in 1983. I owe who I am today to Brenau. Brenau is about so much more than what is learned in the classroom. It is about exposure to people from different walks of life unlike your own. You leave with a strong foundation for your future if you apply yourself. Brenau is not for everyone but if you decide it is for you know that once Brenau is in your heart it will be for the rest of your life.
I transfered after my first semester. You are required to take pointless classes that have nothing to do with your major and you are told that you have to take them to graduate from the school. $15,000 for one single semester. Everything on campus is broken
They need a better student portal and the teachers need to add more information on what they want done. Classes started and didn't have time to get my books in. In the middle of covid amazon takes longer .
Really pretty area year round. Always full of life and lots of hood energy here.
They were extremely helpful. I don't know if I would have made it without them. Thank goodness 🙏 for their wonderful service 👏 …
Alex in Student Accounts and Adora in the Registrar's Office are both AMAZING assets to the Brenau Community and deeply committed to student support, development and success!! My heartfelt gratitude to both!!
The hospital is a joke don't want your time drive on by . They Mike your insurance and will not respect you wishs in life or death. There the place to go if you want to end life
Excellent "small" university. The non traditional program offers opportunities to advanced degrees and personal growth for anyone seeking new career opportunities.
It is a very good experience, it has everything a student needs to concentrate and feel protected in their studies
Excellent school and quality of education. Attended grad school here. Professors are top-notch.
Great college very good medical training top its class in this area opinion.
