My wife and I taught at AB in the late 60s and early 70s, it was really enjoyable experience even thought the administration was terrible. We taught PE and I coached swimming, the pool was not constructed for competitive swimming I made do. When it was being built there were many things that were brought to their attention, like underwater lights and above deck light, but ignored.

I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay years ago especially the chemistry. Use your fingers! Carbon only has 4 bonds. Our English class was good although humbling. History class was taught by an award winning professor really quite well. Thanks again to the coach that made lessons come alive. Salute to Dr. Minor DDS. It's a tall order for a businessman from Elkins if I recall rightly, to turn this ship around. May divine favor be sought and found for the sake of the surrounding community and environs. While in session I thought this was a fine town to live in. Fairmont and Morgantown are not too far away to visit.

I attended this university more than 50 years ago as a Freshman. Participated in its soccer program. Left after 1 year due to racism by the administration, fellow students and community. It did not surprise me that reading reviews from up to just 10, 5 and 2 years ago folks are still depicting this was a terrible university for African Americans to attend. Thank God this placed was closed a year ago!! What comes around goes around. So long AB, your disgraceful policies will never be forgotten.

After being here for 4 years I really fell in love with this school. It’s completely different from where I’m from and I enjoy that! I really appreciate how AB wants every student to feel like they are apart of a family, and I definitely feel like I have a second family. Also, I like how the class sizes are small so students can build relationships with their professors, instead of being just another number at a larger institution.

Coming to AB has been a huge blessing in my life. This school has made me find who I am and for that I am so thankful. In my four years I have been provided with so many wonderful opportunities that I do not think that I would have gotten at a bigger school. Every single person that works here from the professors to the maintenance crew care about your well being and success!

Now that it’s currently my second year at AB I have no regrets on making my decision to come here. The atmosphere and environment here is surreal. Coming from a big city from New Jersey to small town in Phillipi WV has been a big transition but so worth it. The staff, professors, classmates, resident life, dorms, sports, and small population here is what makes AB so great.

I love being a student athlete at AB! I have found my home away from home here because of the atmosphere and the faculty. I will graduate in the spring with three degrees and feel as if AB has well prepared me for my future.

I chose AB because of its great atmosphere and it’s small size. It feels like home and the staff and students treat you like family. I would gladly recommend AB to anyone looking for a school that values them as students and as athletes.

This is my senior year at AB and I have loved going to school here! It’s small and easy to navigate, and it is easy to make your home. My college years have flown by and I’m so happy I chose to go here!
