For the professors and teachers, I would give MJC 5 stars. The 1 star reflects my views and experiences with the administration, counselors, financial aid and some other services of Modesto Junior College. Overall an excellent school (due to the awesome professors) with a lot of classes and programs available that will enable you to learn more than you can imagine. HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE, the counselors WILL direct you to take classes you do not need for your major. In my experience, the counselors will also withhold information about what classes you need until you are a semester or two from graduating then surprise, you need to be waitlisted for a class that is only taught for one semester at this school. Please just be VERY sure you absolutely know what classes to take because the counselors will not help and will actively make your college experience more difficult. However the library and learning center is really great and it helps that there are free services for students in there usually from other students that are super helpful.

I currently go to this school, as well as the east campus. I am an ag major, so most of my time is spent on the ag pavilion or the respective animal units on this campus. The teachers are all great, and the courses are always very interesting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cheap higher education than high school or that stepping stone before going to a 4 year.

I'm a current student here getting ready to transfer to a UC. All the teachers have been amazing here, especially the science department making things fun. I love this school, I've never had a better experience learning

To do well you have to take advantage of the student services available! There are a lot of wonderful staff and professors here alike. My counselor Dana Hanlon has helped me with all of my ever changing educational plans, and given great advice. Connie at the Financial Aid Office went above and beyond to help me with FAFSA correction issues, and got it resolved with the help of her Specialist. There are countless professors here that have changed the way I think, and given me great skills for the future. All the while, it's affordable! The COVID relief funds have helped me so much with my current financial situation. I appreciate Career Services as well, and have been receiving wonderful guidance from LaKiesha McDonald. I just wanted to take the time to thank these people and encourage other students to reach out and take advantage of the services available to us.

The cost of food and goods here are ludicrous! They give students $8 voucher for food, but a soda, chips, and sandwich costs $8.52. The Healthy options cost about $2 more than fried food.

Safe place, went to get a catalytic converter that was stolen a month ago, and installed, inspected by a state referee, passed and received Certificate. Passed.
