This is the old KMI campus, correct? It is a drug treatment center now? Tenbrooke? Is it an adolescent facility? Any info would be useful. Thanks! I'm VERY surprised more alums of KMI haven't commented. But I suppose they may all be deceased now, I was at Rice-Audubon in the early 80s, and KMI was long gone then. I'm getting old, man
This was not a Military Institution when i was here between 2004-2006. It was a hold facility for children. They had different sections for children and adults but I remember it very well. The staff was okay, a few was not. I ran from this place every chance I got. The doctors only came around when someone was behaving badly. And the food and medicine made you fat and slower. The basketball court across the way was the best part. With the climbing wall 🧗♀️ and the lake where we went fishing 🎣 This is the place that “Spring Meadows Boys Home” sent you. For not listening to them or for being someone they didn’t want you to be. Thankfully even Spring Meadows was Shutdown. They can tell you it is a military Institution but it’s really a hospital for children that they constantly drug to stay dead to the world. Also known as Tembroke Hospital
