East Mississippi Community College

As an alumni, i overall think EMCC is a wonderful school to start out going to.. this school prepares you for what’s to come your way. The teachers are wonderful, this school campus is very accessible, and it’s easy to understand where class is. The new area that was built back in 2016 brings a lot of new stuff onto campus, and makes EMCC campus feel more like college than like a highschool, but overall it feels like you become part of a family the first day. The teachers are very helpful, and very nice, understanding and very caring and polite and that’s what makes going to school that much better (I hates waking up early just to get to class but when I got my favorite teacher early morning it made it all better). So here is my advice: -If you have to take intermediate/beginning algebra try your best to take them with the same teacher that way you can quickly learn how they teach so that you aren’t confused when going to the next class. -Try your best to finish all of your general education classes before going to a university! -Ask questions, listen, and learn how to take constructive criticism and learn from it. -Pay attention in class, what’s on the board or what’s being shown over the projector, anything s teacher repeats or questions the class about is more than likely going to be on an exam.

Everything about the college is nice but their financial aid department. They don’t give refunds on the scheduled dates they are supposed to. You have to pester them to actually get your loans to go through in time. It’s just really inconvenient and ridiculous.

BE AWARE: EMCC will put you in the wrong classes, have you to take them and tell you, you did not need it. They do this because some people on the campus have a lack of knowledge on what they are doing. Some of the teachers will give you the most ridiculous grades and in my case the fact that I kept being assigned these "some" teachers made me feel like they were trying to flunk me on purpose. I got so tired and frustrated with this school, I decided to go elsewhere! EMCC my education and time is important and I have gotten played over long enough!

I love EMCC. It is a very good school. The teachers and staff are fun and loving and very helpful. The school has a large variety of classes. There are no dorms here but there are many apartments around.

I have got to say EMCC has about a two star performance in almost every category... however when I come to this year’s graduation ceremony (fall 2018) there was something magical in the air. On this oddly perfect day I was preparing myself to go and support those dear to me. But boy was I in for a surprise! The main event was actually in the beginning. And by main event I mean the spoken biography of Dr. Randall Bradberry! I mean this is THE Randall!! Who cares that they mispronounced the majority of the students names and placed them into the wrong gpa class(to which it was optional to call out depending on the student). After the graduation every student, graduate, parent, and family member knew the complete life and resume of the one and only Dr. Randall! Thank you EMCC for that unexpected treat!

Obtained my associates from here and am on the way to getting certified for something else here as well. EMCC is by far the best Junior College to go to.

All about money . if you are looking for a school that will put you on the right path for success or make sure you stay proficient in all your classes. THIS IS NOT THE JUNIOR COLLEGE FOR YOU !
