This place is so unprofessional. I’ve been calling nonstop about the exact same issue. I’ve been bounce from one department to the next….NONE OF THESE SO CALLED PROFESSIONALS KNOW WHAT TO DO. They literally discourage you from attending college.

Admissions was of great help regarding application matters I couldn't resolve. They had everything wrapped up under an hour.

They seem to take advantage of the Housekeeping Dept. For what they pay but expect, it’s not worth it. Thanks but no thanks, I would have to decline.

My son classes were dropped because of a GLITCH in the system in reference to financial aid. Advisor/ Registrar didn’t try to communicate the issue. Now my son is missing a whole semester of welding school. The front desk lady (main campus) needs training, how to professionally communicate with the public. Tried to contact Rita Smith several times, left voicemails….. no response. All I need is effective communication & a reasonable answer to why my son is unable to attend VGCC, due to a GLITCH. Sincerely, concerned parent

Campus is nice. The campus Police do patrol.

Books are ridiculously expensive. ($558 for a cosmetology book and 'code'). This is a disadvantaged rural community, but the school is playing the same textbook racketeering games. The campus is gorgeous on the outside, but dirty and run down on the inside. There is so much more they could do with the money they have to provide better service to these youth. But, it's government run so- nope.

DO NOT ENROLL IN THE RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM THE RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM IS ON ACADEMIC PROBATION BY JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) I CANNOT recommend this program in any capacity. Please, please, please reconsider your choice of school, if you are entertaining the thought of pursuing a degree in Radiography.

Went through Summer session. It seems as though the professors do not have lectures virtually or take out time to interact with students other than emails. Basically you have to figure out everything yourself. I took two classes that consisted of each teacher uploading a bunch of work and power points for you to figure it out. No one actually teaches anymore.. If you need help, ask other students. Very disappointed how the pandemic has made professors so lazy.. I wouldn't recommend applying here as you will pay a school to teach yourself.. School just wants the money.. This is horrible!!

I was fine with the courses, though way too many fillers, but they kept updating the books every semester, so returning them was ridiculously impossible. Now they brought back the masks which have been proven ineffective against covid. I think I'll look for a different school.

I have had a chance to teach here several times and love the campus. Great resources with a large number of programs. They have degree programs, continuing education programs and small business consulting as well as training. One of the most important programs for small businesses is the Small Business Center at the school. Free consulting available.
