We went today for my daughter's orientation. Loved the homey feel of the campus and everyone was very friendly. Great answers regarding security, well fielded Q&A session, and food in the cafeteria was pretty good! Very excited for her to start in the fall. Update.... just dropped her off and everyone was still just as friendly and helped with carrying stuff in even

Just attended graduation, June 14, 2025. I've never heard of more faculty members beating their chest and bragging about themselves than this day. And what's with the spanish speeches? Really? Pssst...this is America. And the left wing political views are okay to chant about during this ceremony? Y'all need to be re-educated. Shameful ceremony.

Be prepared for sometimes unhelpful communication from financial aid. Transferring also ended up being a pain. Professors are all solid at least.

Very inclusive small liberal arts university with a small-town feel. Originally a normal college for teachers, the College of Education is well-known in the PNW for producing great educators! Located in the Willamette Valley, WOU is close to Albany and Corvallis, Salem, and just over an hour from Portland and the coast!

The dining hall is Awful even though they try their best so many people get food poisoning and the menu is lacking in variety and edible vegetables Almost everything looks as though it came out of a can. The housing is Terrible people being plagued with breaking heaters and mold And leaky windows The walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbors talking at a normal tone and decipher every word. There is absolutely no parties that are worth your time and if you want to have any nightlife your best bet is to go to OSU which is a $50 Uber ride each way. The community at the school is not nice amongst students Most people won't even smile back at you in passing. However I will say there is a lot of resources and a lot of kind people on the staff. Graduation is lower than the transfer rate and I feel like that speaks for itself after the first month of classes it seems as though 1/4 of the people in the freshman building moved out because the school is just not a great one unless you're specifically looking for a program that they offer I would go somewhere else anywhere else .

Nice place but the noise through the walls of a ac, generator or pump wouldn't let me sleep all night, even worse when you are sleeping next to the noise, plus the head aches. But it might depend on what dorms your in.

It's good enough. I'm a senior here getting ready to graduate in 2021. I love the pretty campus and the simplicity of its layout. I also like the price. BUT there's some problems regarding the person in power *cough* rex fuller tlwhere he seems to make decisions to make the students as upset as possible. This includes the unnecessary price hike for online classes which doesn't make sense since building fees are still included as well

Beautiful campus! College of Education is a joke though. The staff for the most part are very disconnected from the realities of teaching as they have been retired for a long time. Many of the student teaching supervisors are terrible at giving meaningful advice. The program does not do a good job of preparing you for a career as a teacher.

I wish I would’ve discovered this place sooner. Unbelievably beautiful campus, extremely dedicated teaching faculty and staff, and an unusually kind and welcoming culture. The university is located just a few minutes west of Salem, Oregon- an undiscovered gem!

The Dorms have no AC so the Spring and Summer Terms are literally Hell on earth. I am a 3rd year CS Student and I often find classes being taught by professors who have little to no experience with the subject matter leading to a sub-par experience. Also, the department decided to change up the curriculum, removing all of the 'old' classes, and the administration made it the students' problem to figure out how to manage the old catalog without being able to change to the new one. If you want to feel used and abused by the inefficient system at a small university, this is the place for you. The only upswing is that most of the professors here are amazing people, even if some of their classes end up being complete B.S.. Overall, if I could afford to transfer to a different school I would, but I am stuck here due to finances and incompatible degree programs. Edit: the few professors and staff who actually care about students here do so much more than you would expect to make your education experience better.

This is a nice clean campus in a boring city named Monmouth Oregon. Most buildings are new or have been recently improved. If you want to keep your student out of trouble and still get an education.... this is a great choice.

Great and quiet campus. But go to a community college for the first 2 years, then transfer into WOU for a degree to save a ton of money and get the same education. Keep in mind if you go to school here, you'll be surrounded by a ton of farms and aside from driving into Salem or Corvallis, there isn't much to do.

Expensive and classes not very flexible to meet needs of many. After being late on payment one month they rushed to hit my credit report without even trying to contact me. No personalization and considering how much money there bringing in …

I love WOU. It's a safe and beautiful campus. People are very friendly, staffs are very easy to talk with. Courses are not hard if you choose wisely.

The disc golf course and campus are cool. The education is expensive, tedious, and way too much of the additional fees goes to athletic programs and infrastructure.
