Great campus! Had move in for two of my children a first year and a third year..Vast improvement from two years ago. Very appreciative for all of the staffs hard work!. Proud to be a Cheyney Mom
I love Cheyney made a lot of history at this school. This is the most unorganized university ever. Never been to a school where they try to gate keep historical celebration such as may weekend. It's all about the experience and repeatedly take it away by just the dumb shit.
Wish I could give none!!! I’m so disappointed in what my former HBCU has come to. As a parent I’m so upset. Allowing kids who’ve made gun threats to stay enrolled and live on campus. Constant changes in tuition payments. The intimidation from the faculty to the students. And the fact that no one ever answers the phones is ridiculous. I can keep going about how you guys try not to acknowledge accommodation letters from doctors for the students but I’m not even going to get into that.
I love my HBCU..I was voted "Miss Freshman 2017-2018" and I had so much fun . I am sadly transferring, because they are taking away the sports programs and I was on a track scholarship, but my experience at Cheyney was unforgettable. Its a family atmosphere to say the least, everyone knows each other on campus which makes it comfortable even for freshman.
If I could rate lower I would. I transferred into this school and I will be out after this year. I have had 4 friends leave before the school year was over because of how unprofessional this school is. No one does their job. The teachers are excellent but as far as the other staff goes, no one has a purpose to be their. I feel that most of the other staff never went to school and getting a job at Cheyney was a last resort. They do not like to answer the phones to solve problems, they play around with peoples money, the dorms are very dated and they don't even have enough students to fill them. This school should be shut down, it is a school for rejects and people who aren't serious about school. It is a waste of time for those who are serious. The athletics department has different people quitting their jobs everyday and currently has no one in charge. Coaches are leaving because they receive no support from the school. My list could go on but I just hope no one else falls for the trick that I did.
Horrible experience how I was treated by the staff. I was removed & kicked out threaten with the police for being a black man on campus. Very sad
It seems like a great school to attend!!
If every a state funded university I would send my Child, Cheyney University would be it! Beautiful Campus with updated buildings. Just wish others knew of this hidden treasure in tinicum township. Beautiful small HBCU.. Support them and keep their enrollment thriving!!! Trust me you will not be disappointed!
I love Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. I am honored to say that I will be graduating from Cheyney University in May, 2018. An unmatched college experience at a University that has been established to educate African Americans. I encourage all high school senior to apply to Cheyney University. Come visit the University and walk our historical campus and eat from Ada George’s dinning Hall. Better yet, if you do not feel like siting grab a “BRB” from our famous snack bar!
Despite the issues at the university, Cheyney has created a reflective and visionary leader in myself. I would not have went to any other HBCU, or any other PASHEE school. Cheyney taught me that it was safe to be black in modern day America. Being that I transferred in to CU, I know that the issues Cheyney faces, every other school faces. I love my HBCU.
