The Greek text ΓΝΩΘΙ ΣΑΥΤΟΝ (transliterated as Gnothi Sauton) means “Know Yourself” in English. This phrase originates from ancient Greek philosophy and was famously inscribed at the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. It serves as a key philosophical tenet, urging individuals to engage in self-reflection and understand their own nature, limitations, and place in the world. It is often associated with Socrates, who emphasized self-awareness as the foundation of wisdom and ethical living. This concept has since become a cornerstone in Western philosophical thought.

Before I decided to commit to the College of Charleston I was unsure about the campus. As a matter of fact, I never heard of it until I started the college process. Once I visited Charleston I was left speechless with how beautiful it was. I applied and got accepted and so far I love the college. Although it’s the distance from home that makes it the most difficult classes are fun and the dining hall food is not too bad. Go cougars!

Spoletto Festival USA 2021 and the New Orleans Preservation Jazz Band. The Cistern Yard is a magical venue for music and it delivered as the band did. They were fantastic!
