Nice school to attend if you can borrow money or pay yourself. Housing on campus is 3-4K per semester depending on the building. Tuition is around 8K per semester. Scholarships are available, too. Staff and faculty are polite and helpful, for the most part.

You would think the College of Marine Sciences would have a bicycle lane on the bridge to the college. But it’s Texas, so no, probably too “woke” for anyone interested in their personal health and wellness to expect a modicum of safety from the State.

HASSE Space School J99 junior has a leaning of marine and shark biology on July 5 2024. Lot of new things for students. Try to dissect shark like a professional surgeon doctor.

I absolutely loved the tour I did here with my HS JROTC class!!! I was very amazed with all TAMUG had to offer its students, and where I wasn't able to apply here, I am so excited for my younger sister joining as a freshman this year pursuing a marine biology major! I hope she has as much fun here in the next few years as I did on the two hour tour.

Went there = many times.. the campus is sweet.. how many of you however may have smelt the sulfer plant nearby from time to time...!?*^ at texas a&m galveston texas...fortunately the wind almost always blows inland you never ever smell it a(the bitter smell) at this campus ..though it's just a hop skip and jump away

By far the best college experience you can get at any maritime academy in the nation. I hated being a cadet at the time, but looking back I only remember the good times. I appreciated that it was still possible to get somewhat of a normal college experience, and that non-license option students make up a majority of the student population. Plus, I think the school has rid itself of most of the toxic maritime faculty, and is well on its way to living up to its potential. I just really hope they get a new ship soon.

This review is based on my first conversation with a campus employee. I will provide additional information after a visit & tour. I just completed an extremely helpful conversation with an employee in the Admissions Dept re tours, majors, name it-it was possibly asked 🤭 Everything was answered thoroughly with extra detail as needed. As a parent scheduling college visits, and passing info along to my Student to make decisions, this is an excellent beginning. My thanks to Steven for his helpfulness.

I love the support systems in the school and I look forward to contributing to the school research in coastal and marine hydrology.

This is a great school, one of the best in the U.S. We teach marine transportation, ocean engineering, marine engineering technology, ocean sciences. many of our graduates are making $100,000 first year in very interesting jobs.

My daughter attends TAMUG. It the perfect community for her. Of course it hasn't been the same since COVID. All her classes have been online. She visits every other week with the student club she directs. I tagged along for a Mommy-daughter mini vacation to Galveston.

Skip the Ocean Engineering degree. There is no work. When there is work, its short term project work. This career path in not stable. You are better of earning a degree in civil or structural engineering.

✏I spent two incredibly wonderful, fun, scholastic-humbling, difficult, exasperating, soul-searching, friendship-bonding, intellectual expansion and morality building years at TAMUG. There is nothing I would change about the experience. …

I plan to go to this college in the future with my friends after highschool. I chose this school as it has good ratings, it’s a campus in my favorite city in the WORLD, and I love the fact that it caters to so many majors …
