Mount Liberty College has been an incredible experience! The students and faculty feel like one big family, creating a close-knit and supportive community. The friendships I’ve formed and the memories I’ve made here are some of the best of my life. The students are especially close-knit, often coming together for study groups, dinners, activities, and community events. These shared experiences make college life even more meaningful and enriching. Each teacher brings their own unique teaching style, which enhances learning in the best way. Our classes are discussion-based rather than just lectures, allowing us to dive deeper into what we read and learn. These discussions encourage thoughtful questions, foster deeper understanding, and help us refine our knowledge. They also keep the conversation open for different opinions, teaching us to consider other perspectives and stay humble—there’s always room to grow and gain more knowledge. Here, I’ve been taught how to think, not what to think. I’ve been able to seek truth by studying the great works and ancient authors who reveal the beauty and wonder of life.
I love Mount Liberty! I'm in my third year of studying here, and I can honestly say that the choice to attend MLC has been one of the best of my life. It's definitely not your typical college - there's no dorms or sports teams - but it's much closer to what the original "university" was intended to be: an institution that provides a "whole" education. Indeed, that is the kind of education I am receiving! My coursework has spanned subjects from political economy to the history of science, from Latin to law, and so many things in between. In addition to the subjects I study, the Socratic method, practiced in every class at Mount Liberty, has taught me to respect other points of view, think critically, and look more deeply at any issue or question I come across. As I mentioned before, MLC isn't your run-of-the-mill school. In our current world, education consists of job-training and bureaucratic hoops to jump through, so Mount Liberty is an experiment - but so far, it's been a successful one. If you're thinking about coming here, feel free to visit a class or read more on the school's website (the website includes a frequently-updated page of our graduates' accomplishments, in case you're wondering what your future might look like after Mount Liberty!).
As someone who actually goes here, this is genuinely the best school I have been to. Being able to build on the knowledge I have to a degree I wasn't aware possible, has been an absolute joy. The people are amazing, both faculty and students. I have been pushed to achieve exelence at every turn, but not in an overbearing way. Wholeheartedly recomend for someone seeking out a College that will really build academic muscle and provide information is such a way that you can use it forever.
I love the vision of this school, "Mount Liberty College is where truth, wisdom, and beauty found in the great works of the past are studied, engaged with, and discussed in depth. A bachelor’s degree in Classical Liberal Arts from Mount Liberty is for those who desire to engage with the great thinkers of the past, enhance their critical thinking skills, exercise their creative inspiration, and be prepared for any challenges the future holds." This is similar to the vision of Paradigm Highschool which is "Founded on the pillars of wisdom, virtue and relevance...by providing a classical liberal arts education that is founded in leadership and free thinking". We had one of Mount Liberty's professors, Chris Jones give a speech at our homeschool co-op. The scholars loved him! He was very dynamic and engaging. Hopefully, Mount Liberty will come to our next college fair at Paradigm!
