The education was decent and did well to keep up with trends in fast paced technology. On the other hand, "hindsight is 20/20" and since day 1 the 'system' enabled the worst long term impacts to build up on my life. Graduated earlier than intended and left an on-campus potential career. I would call the issue "culture" but broader social issues were at play.
EVERY year we go through this parking pass nightmare!!! When will the school realize most of the kids are overseas and/or out in the field and cannot hang on the computer for 2 days to FIGHT for a parking pass. This could be structured so much better than allowing 3 grades (all upper classmen)to compete at the same time while giving sophomores and freshmen their own days. Do better UWSP.
Great school, especially for anything natural resources related. Their music program also has tons of cool opportunities, there's always a performance you can go see during the school year!
Nice campus. Typical UW system school - they screw you over with classes you need, string you along to see if they can get you there for 5+ years. Facilities are nice. Parking for athletic events suck.
I graduated in 2016. Almost every class I had was taught by a professor, and not a TA. Due to the small class sizes, I felt as if the professors were able to get heavily invested in their students. As a result, the quality of my education was excellent. The only problem with the small campus is that sometimes I felt like I was at high school 2.0. Classrooms and labs are basic, and the history of the campus is not well expressed. There wasn't much school spirit.
One of the most economical and environmental universities in Wisconsin. Well rounded academics with a good music program, rigorous education program, overall a good science school and a popular choice for natural resource majors. I hear they will be cutting a lot of humanities from this school 😮. New bio and chem building in the making and I am excited for that! Overall the Stevens Point community is very kind and welcoming.
UWSP is a really nice place. I was there for the 2018 girls 8th grade basketball champoinship tournament, and their gyms are great. They have the ability to have one big court or multiple small courts. The seating is great and I would definately reccomend it for sporting events. I don't really know a lot about the education parts of this since I don't go to school here, but the athletics department has done a great job. I would 100% reccommend!!!
The University of Stevens Point doesn't care about their minority student. As a current student, I've been harassed & bullied on campus and within the community. The university and police department does nothing about it. The retention rates for minority students is extremely low because students don't feel safe! This is not a diverse community.. As a student you will face some type of racism.. before coming here I didn't know what racism was because I had a diverse group of friends. Being here for 4 years has made me depressed and somewhat racist.. I don't like that at all because I love people but going through the same situations over and over you become angry because no one is helping you or trying to make it stop
I enjoy nearly all of my professors and classes available. The advisors make sure you get what you need and when to graduate. There are plenty of other activities to do on and off campus.
My very first negative review...ever... I was there with a group of good friends and waited 45+ minutes between opening act. There were maybe 300 people at most there and he had roadies and still couldn't come out and made everyone wait when there are no (even water / soda) beverages sold or food / snacks....and then when my wife wanted to go outside to get some fresh air I was told I couldn't come back in even though your security staff were leaning up against the door ways playing games joking with NOONE around...it was like they waited all day to tell me I couldn't come back in...what a joke and waste of $$$
Alma mater. Nice school with a moderately sized student body. Good times were had by all. Plus they got Panic! at the Disco to play here last year!!!
I can't believe they allow woman and children abusers like 21 year Liam Sheen to go to school, I would never recommend this kid to any future careers.
UWSP was a wake up call and a boding of things to come. Treat us physicists right cause you only have one life too.
It is great how much this university cares about the students. People go out of the way to help. If you are ever in need of assistance, please visit the Tutoring-Learning Center.
Received my Bachelor's here and truly enjoyed the experience and the professionalism from all of the staff. I wish they offered my Master's program so I could have gone back!
Amazing college!
Great college. Small campus and easy to get around.
As if tuition doesn't waste enough of your money, they nickel and dime you every chance they get.
Home to some of the best experiences I've ever had. Worth the investment and made me the leader I am today
Nice and Beautiful campus, the education quality also A++
