Jarvis Christian University

Today I witness a great moment in history. I just attended a event of a renaming ceremony. The former name of Jarvis Christian College is now JARVIS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY. A job well done by President Dr. Lester C. Newman, and board Chairman and members Mr. Torry Edwards. This institution of higher learning has now leveled up to another height of greatness! Also I just like to say Mr. Torry Edwards is a friend, amazing leader, and a great human being.

I was not expecting such a nice campus. I will visit again soon.

Enjoyed the campus, larger than I expected, was warm and welcoming, students seemed comfortable and connected in the local community.

College is about all about what you make of it! The worst conditions/ hardships there on campus just pushed him to want more success! My son was amazing before he got to Jarvis and attended Jarvis for all 4 years and continued to be amazing! Academic excellence! Faith Based! Greek Life! HBCU experience ! All these experiences are at your own pace -!!

What a difference!! I have noticed recently that the campus and buildings are so very nice and clean. Thank you all for your care in making sure this historical and important part of our east Texas history is taken care of. Great job!!

We brought my son back. The security was professional, polite and welcoming. Student's health was emphasized, COVID test was done to ensure we are safe. I really appreciate that. Kudos to Jarvis administration and Staff. Thanks for your part to keep safety primary.

I attended Jarvis Christian College. Jarvis is truly an Institution were the staff do care about the individual. The Professors and Instructors encourage their students to do their best. When staff members of JCC give out their personal phone number and you can call anytime, that says a lot. I consider the Jarvis Christian College staff caring, nurturing, and very concern about each individual. It's left up to the Individual to put forth an effort and achieve the most out of their education. May God continue to bless Jarvis Christian College faulty, staff and students.

This is the worst college in Texas! Every employee and instructor is a joke in terms of professionalism. The HR manager is the only person in the organization that’s resourceful. Someone should ask her why did she hire such unethical, bad attitudes, selfish people. This school is all about the Administration and the students are a necessary evil to ensure profit!! Don’t send your children to Jarvis and pray for an investigation on the leadership!!

I was there for a celebration of life so my interaction with the campus was limited. Entry and security were easy and helpful. covid protocols were clearly in place. Everyone I encountered was polite. Facility we used was in good condition.

This is a terrible school. Another failing HBCU with great Google reviews. Students can't speak proper English, the computer lab has ONE printer, the food is terrible...and only a 13% graduation rate! Read reviews on legitimate college sites.

This school is so horrible , the food quality is bad !!!! I think people in prison eat better than the students here. They change staff every semester because they don't last. The amount of money you are going to pay for is not worth it. Dont let them brain wash you. They don't even try to help you out all they want is your money

They take all your money your freshmen year , then leave you with an outstanding balance so you wont transfer. They wont even release my paperwork so i can transfer. Worst decision of my life!
