University of Texas at El Paso

Overview

UTEP has become a national model for creating and successfully executing highly competitive academic and research programs while maintaining a deep commitment to serving a 21st century student demographic. It is this dedication to providing access and excellence to students in its region that has resulted in UTEP becoming the only research-doctoral university in the United States with a Mexican- American majority student population. Set against the backdrop of the Franklin Mountains in the Chihuahuan Desert, UTEP is located at the heart of the U.S.-Mexico border in one of the largest binational communities in the world.

terrible advisers, they don't "advise" they make you take what ever classes they seem fit. I dropped a semester because of a family incident and instead of getting back on track, I got way behind because they only allowed me to take one class the next semester, it felt terrible coming back to that. I eventually dropped out. Every semester had to be fighting to take more than one class. go to NMSU they have better programs and people

Employees hang up on you like it's their job, some even give an attitude. From what I've experienced, most of the employees don't know how to communicate. I am sadly a good listener and I've noticed both employees and management give you the wrong information and when you call them out for giving you the wrong information, they hang up on you; I wasn't even insulting the employees or yelling and most get fed up with having someone who knows how to communicate. Get employees that know how to do customer service right please and thank you.

I've had problems with my FAFSA and I've gone to their offices more than three times, and they always tell me they'll resolve it soon, but they never do. I'm afraid the school year will start and they still haven't resolved it, and I won't have the money to pay the tuition.

Excellent University! You get what you put into it. Provides students with great opportunities to better themselves in their careers. Can’t beat the price. School has gone through a lot of remodeling and new construction making it innovative and modern looking. ⛏😊👨🏻‍🎓👩🏻‍🎓 …

Did not go to college there, but I do enjoy the beautiful buildings on campus. Also the various productions offered from time to time.

Not a student here but I love visiting! It’s such a beautiful university I feel like I’m in another country! Years ago I was in a young women’s program and it was so much fun!
